Getting the best suction
Works on smooth, non-porous surfaces — highchair trays, glass, laminate, stone and sealed timber. It won't grip textured, slatted, mesh or raw wooden surfaces. Make sure both the dish base and the surface are clean and dry, press firmly in the centre to push the air out, and lift one edge to release.
Care & safety
Wash before first use. Top rack of the dishwasher, or warm soapy water by hand. Not for stovetop or grill use. Silicone stays cool while food inside can be hot, so always check the temperature after microwaving, and supervise your child while eating.
Will the suction base stick to my highchair tray?
Yes, as long as the tray is smooth and non-porous, which covers most modern highchairs. It won't hold on textured, slatted or raw wooden surfaces, and both surfaces need to be clean and dry.
Can my toddler pull it off the table?
A determined toddler working at the edge can break the seal — that's by design, since a permanently fixed dish wouldn't be safe. What the suction stops is the accidental sweep and the mid-scoop slide.
Does it come with a lid?
No — the Bumkins Silicone Stretch Lid is sold separately. It stretches over the dish for leftovers or prepping ahead, with a writeable frosted top. It resists most spills but isn't fully watertight.
