The Ubbi Steel Nappy Pail was designed by parents who wanted a nappy bin that actually controlled odour โ not just contained it. The powder-coated steel body doesn't absorb smells the way plastic does, while rubber seals and an innovative sliding lid minimise air disruption every time you add a nappy, keeping odours locked inside between changes.
Unlike most nappy bins, the Ubbi works with any standard rubbish bag โ or a reusable cloth liner if you prefer โ so there are no expensive branded refill bags to track down and reorder. A childproof safety lock keeps toddlers out, and the sleek steel design is available in 12 colours to complement any nursery. Holds up to 55 nappies before needing to be emptied.
โป๏ธ Eco-friendly by design
No proprietary refill bags means less waste and less ongoing cost. Use the standard rubbish bags you already buy, or a reusable cloth liner for a zero-waste option. The steel body is also more durable long-term than plastic โ it won't crack, stain or absorb odours over time, meaning the Ubbi is built to last well beyond the nappy years.
๐ก๏ธ Why steel makes the difference
Plastic is porous โ it absorbs odours over time and becomes harder to clean, no matter how often you wash it. Steel doesn't. The Ubbi's powder-coated steel body stays fresh wash after wash, year after year. It's why the Ubbi is considered the gold standard of nappy pails by parents who've tried both.

Common questions
Does the Ubbi nappy pail require special bags?
No. The Ubbi works with any standard rubbish bag or reusable cloth liner โ no expensive proprietary refill bags required. This makes it more economical and more eco-friendly than most nappy bins on the market.
How does the Ubbi control odour?
The Ubbi uses three layers of odour control: powder-coated steel (which doesn't absorb odours the way plastic can), rubber seals around the lid, and an innovative sliding lid that minimises air disruption when you open it. Together these features lock smells inside between nappy changes.
How many nappies does the Ubbi hold?
The Ubbi Steel Nappy Pail holds up to 55 nappies, making it one of the higher-capacity nappy bins available โ fewer bag changes for busy parents.
Is the Ubbi nappy pail safe around toddlers?
Yes. The Ubbi features a built-in childproof safety lock that prevents toddlers from opening the pail on their own, while remaining easy for adults to operate with one hand.
Is the Ubbi easy to clean?
Yes. The steel construction means the Ubbi doesn't absorb smells over time the way plastic bins can. The sliding lid and open interior design make it straightforward to empty and wipe clean โ and the steel body won't crack or stain with regular use.
What colours does the Ubbi come in?
The Ubbi Steel Nappy Pail is available in a range of colours and finishes โ from classic white, grey and ivory through to blush, sage, taupe, matte black and more. Check the product listing for the colours currently available at Hyphen Kids.
